Freethought is quite uncommon nowadays. Growing up, everyone tells you what to do. Everyone seems to know what is best for you. They tell you how to think, how to spend your time, and what your future should be. They tell you to be other than who you are.
They tell you to go to preschool, then elementary school, junior high, high school… Then to college so you can get a good job and work the rest of your life. They seem so sure that that is your destiny, and if you’re like me, you believed them.
They mean well. They mean to empower us with knowledge and a career. Instead, they do the opposite. School stifles our spirit and creativity, and it only leads to careers that are life-leeching.
Leave your mark on the world.
What we need is less culture. Less being told what to do. More freedom.
Art is the path to salvation. Through art and creation we can reclaim our lives and experience the universe.
